Changes to Direct Debit notice period

Customers may receive a letter from Allpay, Hastoe's Direct Debit provider.

12 August 2024

We have contacted over 3,000 customers who currently pay their charges via Direct Debit to explain that the notice period for changing their Direct Debit is being reduced.

If you have received a text from us on this matter then you will receive a letter in the next few days from Allpay, Hastoe’s Direct Debit service provider, advising of changes to the Direct Debit service. There will not be any changes to the amount, frequency or dates of your current Direct Debit. This improvement will allow future changes to your direct debit to be made more quickly. You do not need to take any action.

The change, effective from 15 August 2024, means that residents paying by Direct Debit will receive advance notice by email or text before a payment is made from their account. Residents can now also receive notification of changes/amendments to their Direct Debits by email rather than by post, and the notice period for changes has been reduced from 7 working days to 5 working days.
