We launched the Hastoe Orchard in 2010 to provide fruit trees for residents living in our newly-built homes. Since then, we have planted over 1,300 trees including eating apples, cooking apples, pears, plums and cherry trees; varieties that cross pollinate or are self-pollinating so the trees produce good crops. The scheme has since been recommended by the Building Beautiful Commission.
We work with a landscape architect to design an appropriate and sensitive planting scheme to enhance every new build, as well as providing gardens. This is part of our New Build Standard.
