About us
Hastoe owns and manages more than 7,500 homes across the south of England from Devon to Norfolk. We are a social housing landlord and England’s leading rural housing specialist. We deliver small housing developments in partnership with local communities although, for historic reasons, we also own some housing in urban areas.
We are passionate about providing a first-class service for our customers. If you are enthusiastic, customer-focused, and passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, then we want to hear from you.
About the role
The main purpose of the role is to provide face-to-face and telephone advice and guidance to Hastoe residents who require additional support to improve their financial capability and maximise their income. You will have a crucial role to play in enabling our residents to afford their rent payments and avoid eviction.
About you
We are looking for an approachable person with experience of providing advice and support to individuals, with the enthusiasm and energy to address often complex issues. You must have a strong understanding of the benefit and welfare system, including Universal Credit.
You will need to be customer focussed and enjoy getting out and about meeting our residents. You will be able to work remotely and be able to manage your time and workload effectively.
You will be organised, have an eye for detail and enjoy resolving resident issues, working in partnership with Hastoe colleagues and external organisations.
You will also need to have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a benefits and welfare environment, in a capacity which involved face-to-face interaction with customers.
- A full driving licence (with access to a car) and be willing to travel across the region and occasionally to other Hastoe locations.
Find out about a 'day in the life' of one of our other Benefits and Welfare Advisors.
