Community to find out more about new affordable homes in Colne

01/12/2017
A meeting is being held next week (Tuesday 5 December) for residents of Colne, Huntingdonshire to find out more about forthcoming affordable homes which will be available solely to those from the local area.
The much-needed affordable housing scheme will provide seven new high-quality, sustainable homes for rent and three for shared ownership. Two homes will also be available for open market sale by the contractors DCH Ltd.

The open meeting will be hosted by Hastoe Housing Association, the leading rural affordable housing specialist, who will be displaying an initial layout for the new homes. The meeting will allow residents to hear more about the development and how they can apply to buy or rent one of the properties.

The builders are on site right now and Hastoe hopes that all the homes will be completed and ready to move in during Spring 2018.

Hastoe Head of Development Ulrike Maccariello said: “We are delighted to be supporting the residents of Colne by providing affordable, environmentally sustainable homes.

“Hastoe has worked in close consultation with the local community for a long time to determine the local housing need in Colne and develop homes which are right for the village. These homes will enable residents to remain in the village where they live, work or have family ties and will help ensure that the local community can continue to flourish.

“Genuine community engagement is incredibly important to Hastoe, so we hope to see many residents at the meeting to keep them updated about the development and let them know how they can apply to buy or rent one of the homes.”
