Hastoe Housing Association has won the Eco Home category at the Norwich & Norfolk Eco Awards, for their scheme on Birdbeck Drive in Outwell, Norfolk.

The scheme, made up of four flats and 11 houses, has been built to Passivhaus standards, meaning the homes offer superior insulation and lower energy costs for tenants. Specialists in sustainable design, Ingleton Wood, designed the scheme whilst the contractor for the project was EN Suiter.

Brian Carroll, Head of Development at Hastoe said: “We are delighted to
see our Birdbeck Drive scheme in Outwell get recognition at the Norfolk &
Norwich Eco Awards. The Passivhaus standards to which the 15 homes at Birdbeck Drive have been built, further displays Hastoe’s dedication to building
sustainable and affordable homes in rural communities.

“We would like to thank the panel for recognising the hard work gone
into this scheme and the ongoing benefits that those living in the homes will
see for many years to come.”

This is the second award that the scheme has won in recent months – the development also was awarded the Norfolk Association of Architects Craftsmanship Award in December 2015.
