New Year honour for Hastoe Chairman

Margaret Clark OBE, Chairman of Hastoe Group’s Board of Management, has been made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in this year’s New Year’s honours list.

Formerly a Director and Deputy Chief Executive of the Commission for Rural Communities and the Countryside Agency, Margaret Clark receives the honour for services to rural communities.

Sue Chalkley, Hastoe’s Chief Executive, said: “We are all thrilled on Margaret’s behalf because she is so deserving of this honour. Her commitment to Hastoe and to rural communities in general is second to none.”

In addition to her role at Hastoe, Margaret is currently Chairman of the Plunkett Foundation and previous chair of the Somerset, Devon and Dorset Community Land Trust Project.  Margaret is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Most recently, Margaret has been part of the Rural Housing Policy Review body, Chaired by Lord Richard Best, which is due to report its recommendations in January 2015.
