Fire Safety

The health and safety of residents is a primary concern of the Hastoe Group. We work with sector leading specialist fire consultants, BB7, who provide us with comprehensive advice and services relating to fire safety.

All of our residential buildings, where required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety ) Order, have a current fire risk assessment.

Hastoe owns three buildings over 18m in height. None of these buildings have cladding of any type on them.

Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, we have:

• Reviewed the cladding on all of our residential buildings. This has confirmed that there are no buildings that have cladding the same as that on Grenfell Tower (Aluminium Composite Material). We continue to look carefully at all cladding systems to ensure they comply with the current Building Regulations.

• Revisited all of our fire risk assessments

• Met with the Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue service to consider in detail the benefits of installing sprinkler systems in our larger buildings

• Held drop in sessions for residents in our five tallest buildings to provide assurance

• Began to review arrangements for vulnerable residents in relation to fire safety

• Complied with all requests for information from Government and Local Authorities

Our Executive Team continue to monitor the response to the Grenfell Tower fire and provide the Hastoe Group Board with updates.
