Hastoe is pleased to announce it has completed its Decent Homes programme five months ahead of the government target, December 2010.

Decent Homes, a minimum standard for social housing in England & Wales, will ensure that by the end of the year, 95% of social housing will meet the standard of being warm, weatherproof with reasonably modern facilities.

The works at Hastoe have involved new kitchens and bathrooms for residents, aids and adaptations to improve liveability and new roofs, windows and heating systems to ensure more affordable warmth.

Anne McLoughlin, Director of Operations said:

“Hastoe is committed to maintaining this standard into the future and investing in innovative ways to increase the eco credentials of our existing stock. Not only will this reduce our carbon footprint but help reduce living costs for our residents year on year.”

Will Manning, Head of Asset Management said:

“This is truly excellent news and our residents have expressed high levels of satisfaction with the improvements made to their homes.

We wish to thank our partners Enterprise, DR Jones & Trevor Bentons and technical suppliers GIA who worked with and alongside our dedicated staff to achieve this success.”
